Atomic Lifetimes of Astrophysical Interest in Ions of Fe

چکیده
Multiply charged ions of iron dominate the EUV spectrum solar corona. For interpretation such spectra, data on both atomic structure and transition rate are essential, most which provided by theory computation. The wavelengths observed spectra used to test predicted energy level structure, while line intensities depend lifetimes branch fractions. A number electric dipole higher-order rates have been measured over years in laboratory, mostly beam-foil spectroscopy, at heavy-ion storage rings, various ion traps. In this paper, state knowledge base all Fe is assessed, problems further progress outlined.
